My good friends .m_ and started their own fundraising initiative called . This is one of their amazing custom made pieces in the traditional Ukrainian style called a Gerdan/Silyanka. This type of jewelry, which is made of seeded beads, dates back generations in Ukrainian culture and the practice of maintaining its significance is vital to Ukrainian identity today. I chose the blue colours as in Ukrainian culture they represent peace and the blue of our sky, and I wish to reiterate the importance of keeping Ukrainian skies safe during this critical time. Admittedly, this is my first piece of traditional Ukrainian jewelry, but it will not be my last! All proceeds from the sales at go toward charities and fundraisers that directly support Ukrainian troops through medical aid and life saving equipment.
