Dearest MonkeyJunkies,
Earlier this week, our band had a birthday. 18 years ago, on Sunday March 30th, we played for the first time at Irene’s Pub in Ottawa. Steve and Tony had an idea to turn Steve’s weekly gig into “making a band with two guitars, and drums”. They called Matt and left a message to say that they were creating this band, he’ll be the drummer and it started this Sunday at Irene’s. “Call back and tell us that you can make it. By the way, we have the name already … MonkeyJunk”.

Matt confirmed. There was no rehearsal and no plan beyond getting together to jam some blues in a raw and unique way at Irene’s. It felt great from the get go, progressed steadily over the following weeks and months and the rest, as you know is history!
