Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to reflect on the impacts of residential schools. We honour the survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home.
Our store is closed today as we stand in support of remembrance, healing, and reconciliation.
The artwork accompanying this post is the 2025 Orange Shirt Day graphic, designed by Sloane Cameron, a Grade 6 student from Innisfail, Alberta.
Her design showcases a tree, a heart, and children. The tree to represent nature and the heart to symbolize that every child matters and is equally important. The children in the design are holding feathers as an Indigenous representation; however, she drew them without faces so that they have no expression and can represent any child.

The Publish Button - Logbook Pages from the Geocaching Community Volunteer Reviewers, PLUS the matching GEOCOIN!
https://www.landsharkz.ca/collections/featured/products/the-publish-button-book-and-geocoin-set
This book is about the volunteer reviewers who review new cache submissions to ensure they meet the guidelines for publication.
Did you ever wonder how they became reviewers? Do you want to know why they continue to donate their time to the game when they could spend more time finding caches instead? Are you curious about your local reviewer’s story?
This book features stories from 131 current and former reviewers from six continents and thirty countries. It encompasses the history of geocaching, describing the first reviewers – who began in 2001, soon after geocaching started – and reviewers who started each year through 2024.
Inside, you will meet some of the people who volunteer as geocaching reviewers:
*The reviewer who agreed to be a reviewer for a year, over fifteen years ago
*The reviewer, who was on a glacier when he was asked to be a reviewer
*The reviewer who climbed the mountain that inspired her reviewer name
*The reviewer who started geocaching as a teenager
*The Sisters Long Legs
*The male reviewer who cachers assumed was female because he writes so nicely
*The “spicy king” reviewer
*The reviewer who chose neither her caching nor her reviewer name
*The reviewer couple who revealed their identity at the place where they got married
*And 120 other reviewers, including a few who have worked for Geocaching HQ!
Author Marla London brings a wealth of experience in geocaching and reviewing to this topic. She started geocaching in 2002, became a reviewer in 2006 and has attended reviewer gatherings around the world.
The Publish Button will answer some of your questions about the reviewers, make you laugh, and make you want to find or hide your next geocache.
