Greetings CAMRA Members & Craft Beer Enthusiasts:

Subject: CAMRA BC and CAMRA Victoria: A Fond Farewell After 35 Years

Dear Members and Friends,

After 35 incredible years of celebrating and advocating for craft beer in British Columbia, the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA BC) will be concluding its operations in January 2026.

This decision comes after thoughtful consideration. In recent years, we’ve seen a decline in attendance at meetings, advocacy engagement, and volunteer participation. While this marks the end of CAMRA BC as an organization, it also reflects the success of our mission: today’s craft beer consumer enjoys an extraordinary abundance of choice, quality, and innovation. The BC beer scene has grown beyond what we could have imagined — and we’re proud to have contributed to that evolution.

We want to extend our deepest thanks to:

Our members, for your enthusiasm and loyalty.
Volunteers, whose dedication kept our efforts alive.
Past executives, for your leadership and commitment.
Sponsors, for your generous support.
And to the brewers, pub owners, and craft beer professionals who welcomed us, collaborated with us, and helped shape the community we’ve all enjoyed.
While CAMRA BC is winding down, this doesn’t mean the spirit of craft beer advocacy is gone for good. We wouldn’t be surprised if something new — inspired by the same passion — emerges in the future. The love of great beer and community never truly fades. We will have more details on the wind down plan in the coming weeks.

With all that, we would like to raise a glass together one last time.

To all Past and Present CAMRA BC members who see this message, please join your CAMRA Victoria Executive on Sunday, December 14th, in the place where it all began:

Spinnakers Brewpub (upstairs) 308 Catherine St in Victoria, BC from 6pm – 9pm.

We’ll share a pint, have some bites and share the memories, and maybe a bit more.

As with everything, drink responsibly and plan for a safe ride home.

Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. We raise a glass to the past, and to whatever may come next.
