When Flo wrote to Campbell River Council about handyDART, her words reminded us exactly why this service matters.

Her loved one Keith has lived in a care home for 9 years after a stroke left him wheelchair-bound. For over a year, he couldn’t leave. That was until they discovered handyDART.

Now, Keith visits family, gets to appointments, and feels more independent. As Flo puts it: “It seriously changed his life.”

On Thursday, May 14, we are invited to pause, reflect, and take part in Moose Hide Campaign Day, a national, Indigenous-led movement that calls us to stand together to end violence against women, children, and gender-diverse people.

At the heart of the Moose Hide Campaign lies a simple but powerful medicine: a small square of moose hide. You may see a BC Transit operator wearing a pin. These pins spark conversations, carry stories, and represent a commitment to ending gender based violence. To date, over five million moose hide pins have been distributed free of charge to communities, schools, and workplaces across Canada.

Find out where to pick up a pin and learn more at: https://moosehidecampaign.ca
