Keep the Balance Training Studio
Yet at any moment our body can become rigid to protect our frame, Strong to move powerfully, and agile to elude. This pursuit begins with a balance!
Liam Mckinnon is a kayaker fro the Wascana Racing Canoe Club and we have been working together over the last 18 months. Here is a small showcase of some of the creative skills and strength work we have been working on.
Liam is shown bounding and swinging which are two very underutilized skills for movement development. The Shoulder is a ball and Socket joint and should be developed like one, not simply worked up and down with pull ups but Rotational development through swinging and Brachiating. Dynamic repulsions or bounding is another skill to strengthen connective tissue and create a robust frame. Liam also shows great control in his Ring Series and a few creative sequences on the pull up bar.
Liam has been critically thinking about his movement for a long time and I am very proud of his progress!
Cheers Buddy!
