We’re so lucky to have gotten the Giant Floor Map of Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada from Canadian Geographic Education! I was able to team up with SD62 Sooke District (Na’tsa’maht) and visit Savory Elementary today! 🤗

My daughter’s first science lesson is tomorrow! How hilarious are these baby fake Oolichans 😂 you can get them in the fish section at Canadian Tire, just wash them off! She’s teaching Indigenous science and mimicking how T’ilx (Oolichan grease) is made. Western science would call this “density.” Oil is less dense than water so it rises to the top, that’s how our people have always skimmed the grease.
