After developing a repetitive stress injury from drumming for hours without taking sufficient breaks- and after graduating from the school of hard knocks located on “bummer” avenue, Jesse has learned how to drum more economically and with less strain on the body. He enjoys sharing what he has learned about music and the art of performing, and is available for instruction, and for studio and live performances. (It’s fun writing in third person, try it out sometime!). Lessons:
I emphasize limb independence through the application of “New Breed”, a method by Gary Chester that also helps to develop strong timing. We will cover how to grow into a musician that listens and responds well to other players. I can teach you the foundations to many styles: jazz, rock, funk, pop, reggae. I can also teach advanced jazz and fusion applications. I'll hip you on how to get the gig, and how to have fun along the way! Jesse has taught privately for the past five years. He has worked at the Long and McQuade lesson center in Victoria, BC for two years and is currently teaching privately in Los Angeles, CA.
