The federal government just announced $4.2 million in FedNor investments for nine initiatives in Timmins and surrounding areas — and the programs behind this funding are still open to eligible Northern Ontario businesses.

Here's what was funded and through which program:
🏭 Targeted Manufacturing Initiative for Northern Ontario (TMINO) — supported the Bucket Shop and Epitron Inc. in modernizing and expanding their operations

📈 Regional Growth Through Innovation Fund (REGI) — helped Northern College advance industry-academic research for product commercialization; supported Mount Jamieson Resort and Cedar Meadows Resort in launching new tourism offerings

🏘️ Northern Ontario Development Program (NODP) — supported the City of Timmins in launching two immigration pilot programs to address skilled labour shortages and extend the BOOST program for three more years; helped the Town of Iroquois Falls establish a new industrial park; supported the Porcupine District Agricultural Society in expanding a waterfront pavilion for the regional Farmers' Market
