A meaningful conversation on the future of education, innovation, and public value took place as City of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto welcomed Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon, president and vice-chancellor of the University of British Columbia (UBC), during a recent visit to the eastern Metro Manila city.
As reflected in the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) statement, the most meaningful outcome may not simply be that students cross borders, but that more students, families, and communities begin to see greater possibilities within reach.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived in Vancouver on Canada Day for a four-day official visit hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney. The leaders are expected to hold bilateral meetings through July 4 to strengthen the Philippines–Canada economic and security partnership.
This is the first visit by a Philippine president to Canada since President Benigno Aquino III's visit in 2015. Canadian Filipino Net will provide updates throughout the visit.
