MICRODERMABRASION!! ✨
Our esthetics students have been practicing Microdermabrasion, a treatment that gently exfoliates the outer layer of the skin to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. 💎
Unlike Hydrabrasion, which combines exfoliation with water-based hydration, Microdermabrasion uses a diamond tip or fine crystals to buff away dead skin cells, helping improve skin texture, soften the appearance of fine lines, and leave the skin feeling incredibly smooth.
Hands-on experience with treatments like these helps our students build the confidence and skills they’ll use throughout their careers.

MAKEUP SFX SHOWCASE!! ✨ Last looks!!
We can’t get over these effects! 🤯 So happy to see our students supporting each other, growing together, and enjoying their art.
Hours of hard work, creativity, and dedication came together and the final looks were incredible!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this showcase happen!!

For National Indigenous History Month, UBCP/ACTRA featured NIC actors Taninli Wright and Paul Grenier as part of its BIPOC spotlight.
Recognition from UBCP/ACTRA, British Columbia’s union for performers, is a meaningful acknowledgment of an actor’s work and presence in the industry. We’re proud to see members of our community included in a celebration that honours Indigenous voices and stories.
Congratulations to both. We’re proud of the work you do and the stories you bring to the screen.

The NIC Acting Talent Showcase just gave 2nd year students and grads the chance to perform scenes directly for industry professionals. Casting directors and agents from Vancouver talent agencies showed up to watch our performers. And they showed up too. Every performance was sharp, present, and fully committed. Our students put their training to work, and the room felt it!
Standing in front of the people who cast roles and sign talent, before you’ve even graduated, is how you start building real presence in the industry. It’s a genuine first step toward representation, made possible while still in school.
This is what second year leads to. And we’re already looking forward to bringing this opportunity back for the next group of students. Congratulations to every student who brought their best. 👏

She’s got her own poster! 🎬
Alyssa Wapanatâhk, a graduate of NIC’s Film Acting Conservatory, is a series regular in Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie, playing White Sun, and she’s featured in the official artwork Netflix just released to introduce the show to the world. This is a full Netflix original that’s already been renewed for a second season before it’s even premiered, and an NIC grad has a spot in it.
From our classrooms to her own Netflix poster, we couldn’t be more proud!
Mark your calendars: Little House on the Prairie premieres July 9 on Netflix! Let’s watch Alyssa on screen!
