Come out and join us at our beginning of season social at Big Rock Urban Brewery & Eatery! This is a casual event for students and professionals in the material science community.
Each ticket is $5 and includes one drink and appetizers. Ticket sales end on September 10 at 11:30 pm.
Free parking is beside the brewery with some additional parking on the street.

Our colleagues at the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Calgary Section would like to invite you to attend the 2019 Northern Area Western Conference in Calgary, Alberta. This three-day conference will focus on corrosion and asset integrity management in oil and gas and other industries, and explore the integration of sustainable practices within the corrosion industry.
Abstract submission to the student poster session is open until November 30, 2018. This is a great opportunity for students to present their research, connect with people in the industry, and learn about material sustainability, asset integrity, and corrosion.

Dr. Colleen Legzdins, a past chair, past vice chair, and past treasurer of the BC chapter of ASM International as well as past member of the advisory technical awareness council for ASM International, was recently featured in a book published by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum (CIM). The book, Women of Innovation, detailed the stories of 20 inspiring engineers who overcame adversity and excelled in their careers.
