EVERY YEAR IS YOUR YEAR

I wanted to usher in the new year with a fresh new painting with this painting of a Chinese temple based on one of my visits to the in Vancouver.

Every where I looked, there were shapes that reminded me of animals. I decided to incorporate the animals of the Chinese Zodiac and hide them in this painting. My animal sign is the mighty Ram, although it won't be my year until 2027. I thought to myself, why can't this year be my year?

If we dream big & work hard then every day is good, every month is exceptional and EVERY YEAR IS YOUR YEAR.

Behind The Scenes 🗼👀

It all started when I was commissioned to do a 3ft cx 4ft painting, live, at the Marriott hotel (Paris) in Vancouver during their customer appreciation night. It was done on canvas, which is not so typical for a watercolor painting. I was told by the organizers that same night, that it was gifted to their top VIP client!

After, I recreated this on watercolor paper, this time incorporating a charming story of two people meeting in the City of Love!
