“Heavenly Father, thank you for fathers. We thank you for the role they play in forming, strengthening, and loving our families.

“We bring the fathers in our church and our world before asking you enable them to serve their families with wisdom, tenderness and truth. And we ask as they do that they would be powerful witnesses of the love of Christ.

“We ask that you help us in seeking to honour to our father’s story, sacrifices, and strength.

“We also lift up those for whom this day brings up complicated feelings. We ask that for grace and comfort.
You are the God of all comfort—please comfort all mourners and write a new story in their family.

“You are Father to the fatherless—as you have drawn us into your family through Jesus Christ, we ask you use us to express your tender love and to invite others into your family.

“In Jesus name, Amen.”
