The DELICATE sign is a celebration of Taylor Swift's visit to Vancouver and does not refer to the four solar energy systems in the background. In fact solar panels come with a 25-30 year warranty which means they will last several "eras." And with the current rebates you can install solar energy for less than a pair of tickets to the Taylor Swift's concert (based on some current StubHub prices).

We recently learned that unscrupulous companies are trying to divert money intended for Indigenous people to non-indigenous people leasing land on reserves.
BC Hydro recently introduced a number of rebates for individuals and companies to install solar energy. There are higher rebates available specifically for indigenous individuals and governments. We do not think this money should be diverted to non-indigenous peoples.
VREC will continue to work with legitimate indigenous individuals and communities and help them receive these higher rebates.
