The Hub defines food security as everyone has equitable access to food that is affordable, culturally preferable, nutritious and safe; everyone has the agency to participate in, and to influence food systems; and food systems are resilient, ecologically sustainable, socially just, and honour Indigenous food sovereignty as a priority. Food sovereignty is defined as the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems. We respectfully acknowledge we work within the traditional unceded territory of the Ligʷiłdax̌ʷ people.
