CHARACTER 1: DR. JANE GOODALL

Dr. Goodall is a British Anthropologist who left university to travel to the forests of Tanzania, Africa at the young age of 18. She began her career by assisting palaeontologist and anthropologist Louis Leakey. Goodall then established a camp in the Gombe stream, which is now a national park, so that she could observe the behaviour of chimpanzees in the region. She then received a doctorate degree from the University of Cambridge in ethology. Over the years, Jane Goodall has created various initiatives, and has been able to correct a number of misconceptions humans had about chimpanzees. Throughout her years of research, she discovered that they are capable of making and using tools, in addition to the fact that they have a set of unrecognized, complex, and highly developed social behaviours.
