Why is it so important to get your brand color palette right?
Research shows that up to 85% of consumers believe color is the biggest motivator when choosing a particular product, while 92% acknowledge visual appearance as the most persuasive marketing factor overall.
Check out some color meanings:
- Red is associated with danger, excitement, and energy. It’s also known for being the color of love and passion.
- Pink is feminine, it’s sentimental and romantic. Different shades, like hot pink, can be youthful and bold.
- Orange, like it's namesake, is fresh and full of vitality. It’s also creative, adventurous, and associated with being cost-effective.
- Yellow is optimistic. It’s a color associated with being playful and happy.
- Green is natural, and often used to demonstrate sustainability. But it can also align with prestige and wealth.
- Blue is trustworthy and reliable. It’s calming or often associated with depression.
- Purple is royalty and majesty. It can be spiritual and mysterious.
- Brown is down-to-earth and honest, often used for organic wholesome products.
- White is pure. It conveys simplicity and innocence, often with a minimalistic feel.
- Black is both sophisticated and elegant. It can be formal and luxurious, but also sorrowful.
- Multicolor is united or open to anything. It’s great for capturing the spirit of diversity.

Fun fact! Google chose red, blue, and yellow because they are the primary colors, but they added green to show they don’t always follow the rules. This childlike palette makes technology seem less intimidating, and appropriate for a company that prides itself on making things really easy to use!
These are 5 things we are looking for in UGC creators that you might not know about ⚡️
1. Have your name and email easy to find!
I know... it might sound crazy but sometimes it's hard to reach out to creators when they have only a contact form available or they use their pseudonyms everywhere. How are we calling you?
2. Your portfolio should be easy to copy and paste information from.
When sharing profiles with internal teams, we tend to extract useful information to sell your profile to everyone else. Have your text easy to copy from with readable font, including your name and intro.
3. No need to include "Why UGC?"
Having a big section that includes an introduction for UGC is very useful when reaching out blindly to a brand, but not so much when sharing your portfolio with marketing teams and strategists that are already looking for this type of creator.
4. Include whitelisting information and pricing.
Now more than ever brands are looking for whitelisting content. If this is something you would be interested in doing, make sure to mention it and include your fee.
5. Finally, have a variety of brands and video styles.
Having a niche or not, make sure to share different content and video styles. Sometimes brands are looking for something very specific and if they find it in your profile, they don't need to look further!
Feel free to add more to this list and let me know what you'd like to know more about next.
