Behind the scenes of live event support.
For a live room, the technical work is usually practical:
• clear microphones
• controlled audio
• playback support
• camera coverage
• setup and testing
• someone watching the room during the program
StreamCity supports AV, event audio, video coverage, and event recording for events across Vancouver, Surrey, and the Lower Mainland.

We had honour of supporting audio and video coverage for the 4th Guatemalan Gastronomical Festival in New Westminster.
The festival brought together Guatemalan food, music, vendors, families, and community — and StreamCity was there to help capture it.
Our role focused on:
• live audio support
• video coverage throughout the day
• food, vendors, and community moments
• useful content the organizers can use after the event
Thank you to the Consulate of Guatemala in Vancouver for trusting StreamCity, and to everyone involved in bringing the festival together.
We put together a short case study here: https://www.streamcity.ca/blog/guatemalan-festival-audio-video-coverage-new-westminster/

Two events can use the same gear and still need completely different support.
Same microphones.
Same screens.
Same cameras.
Different program.
A panel is not a keynote.
A fundraiser is not an AGM.
A livestream for remote staff is different from a public broadcast.
A recording for archive is different from a recording that needs to become clips afterward.
The equipment matters, but the program tells you what the equipment has to do.
For livestreamed, hybrid, AV-supported, or recorded events in Vancouver, Canada and the Lower Mainland, StreamCity helps match the setup to the event.
Send us the venue, date, audience, speakers, and what needs to happen during the program.

A house AV setup might cover microphones in the room, a projector, a screen, or basic sound.
That can be exactly what the room needs.
But if the event is also being livestreamed, recorded, or followed by people watching remotely, it is worth reviewing how the full program needs to work.
Will the venue provide a clean audio feed for the livestream or recording?
Will online viewers hear audience questions clearly?
Are slides only being shown in the room, or do they also need to be readable on the stream?
Will any speakers join remotely?
Does someone need to manage timing, mic handoffs, or audience Q&A?
Will the recording be repurposed afterward for clips, internal use, or future promotion?
Who is checking what the remote viewer is actually seeing and hearing?
None of this means the venue setup is wrong.
It just means different event formats need different support.
A conference, panel, fundraiser, AGM, speaker program, or hybrid event in Vancouver, Canada may all have different needs once you consider the room, the stream, the recording, and the people watching somewhere else.
Before event day, it helps to review who is speaking, who is watching, what needs to be shown, what needs to be heard, what needs to be recorded, and what needs to happen if the schedule changes.
If you are planning an event in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland, send StreamCity what the venue provides, what your audience needs, and what has to happen during the program.
We can help you figure out what is already covered, what may need support, and what setup makes sense before the day gets busy.
