Toronto based visual artist inspired by telling a story without words, capturing the imagination of my viewers by exploring the soulful and complex themes of the human condition that celebrate love, spirituality and the resiliency of the human spirit.

Introducing two of my works in the “Field Notes in Color” art exhibit this past weekend in Manhattan, New York. The exhibit was curated by the talented .3 who put her very personal and vast collection of works from her private art collection on display for the public to enjoy.

“Field Notes in Color” was a two-day exhibit for viewers to explore Tamara’s personal art collection, built over six years, featuring works from nine
artists residing in five countries, and adding select works from young artists of color across varied
disciplines. The exhibition seeks to challenge monolithic narratives about diasporic creativity and explores the emotional and ancestral language of
color and how abstraction becomes a form of testimony, open resistance, memory, and
courageous liberation.

WORK IN THE SHOW:

1. “Infa-RED” - (2008) - Abstract “ - acrylic on canvas 36” x 48”

“Infa-RED:” This painting is one of my earliest abstract paintings. These are rare because I do not paint abstract a lot but the feedback for this style of work from me was very positive with encouragement for me to explore it more in the future.

2. “The Revolution Lies Within” (2025) - Artist sketch 1/1 giclee paper print - 36” x 36”

This was a preliminary study-sketch for my final digital painting of the same title. This sketch work spoke to Tamara and she requested to have it as a 1/1 artist proof print for her private collection.
