The Neighbourhood Group (TNG) Community Services is a fusion of Central Neighbourhood House, Neighbourhood Link, and St. Stephen's Community House. With 200+ years of combined history, we address the critical issues affecting low-income people in our community: hunger, homelessness, conflict, unemployment, loneliness, youth violence, mental health, and the successful integration of immigrants.

Youth unemployment is a growing challenge that affects not only youth people, but our entire community.

Recently, our CEO, Bill Sinclair, joined CBC Radio to discuss the barriers many youth face in finding meaningful employment and why collective action is needed to create opportunities.

Building a stronger future for young people requires collaboration from employers, community organizations, governments, educators, and residents. When youth have access to employment, mentorship, and skills development opportunities, communities thrive.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

This month reminds us to prioritize mental well-being and the importance of connection in our lives.

From May 4–10, we also recognize Mental Health Awareness Week in Canada, with the theme: Come Together, Canada. Stronger connections, better mental health.

A simple conversation, a check-in, or a moment of kindness can go a long way. Let’s continue building a more connected and supportive community - this May and always.

Give your broken items a fresh start this ♻️✨

Join us on Saturday, April 25th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 349 Ontario Street for a hands-on Repair Café! Hosted by The Neighbourhood Group alongside Repair Café Toronto and St. James Town Community Corner, this event is all about fixing, learning, and cutting down on waste.

Bring along items from home that need a little care—our skilled volunteers will help repair them for free. You’ll also pick up useful repair skills and explore more sustainable ways to reuse what you already have.
