Jaysun Silver the the stage name of a Jason Silverstein, a former new York Times journalist with CBS News. He arrived at The CineForum behind two men who walked in saying, "We are here for the talk." They got it. They left happy. Jason stayed. We talked for hours because of the talk.
I said, "If you have seen the stories in THE STAR, THE SUN and on the web you know..."
He said, "You forget. I was a Journalist for The New York Times. I'm currently with CBS News. I researched you before I came here. Everything I read told me you are classically innocent."
The use of that word "classically" impressed me.
Jason said, "Will you show my film?"
I said, "Sure."
He said, "What the best time?"
I said, "Saturday, September 13, 2025. It is the last Saturday night of TIFF."
Forces in the city pulled out everything they could to destroy me.
It is encouraging that a former New York Times Journalist currently with CBS news did his homework and saw through the nonsense BEFORE coming to my door.
Film making and writing, all the arts, are a form of public speaking.
When film making, writing, the arts becomes solely about being entertainment they lose their gravitas.
Speaking publicly alone by our self without a script is the hardest of
the arts which I why I practice it.
It is why Jaysun stayed, talked and we became friends.
