Today we celebrate the power of movement to connect, inspire, and bring people together. Dance allows us to share stories, histories, joy, and imagination through the body. Please join us in welcoming Jake Ramos as DanceWorks’ Interim General Manager.

Jake is a dancer and arts administrator whose work bridges contemporary performance and thoughtful organizational leadership. Currently overseeing Finance and Administration at Dance Arts Institute, and formerly Interim General Manager at Citadel + Compagnie, he brings strong experience in financial management and sustainable systems-building. As both an administrator and an artist, he has also collaborated as a performer with leading choreographers and companies across Canada.

We are thrilled to have Jake’s dedication supporting this next chapter at DanceWorks, and we warmly congratulate Neetika Sharma .s5 as she prepares to welcome her baby and wish her all the very best during this exciting time!

SABOR Y SOUL explores the immigrant experience through street dance. The performance reflects on how movement becomes a language of belonging, resilience, and identity for those who leave home, yet carry their culture in their bodies.

Dance needs specialized, safe, and accessible space. Venues protect artists’ bodies, support creative risk, and make meaningful audience experiences possible.

Venue costs are one of the greatest barriers for independent artists. Your support helps reduce rental fees, provide rehearsal access, and keep presentation artist-centred.
