First Baptist Church Toronto
Founded in 1826, First Baptist Church has the distinction of being both the very first Baptist church and the oldest Black institution in the city of Toronto. Eight years before the abolition of slavery in the British Empire, 12 slaves from the Southern U.S made their way via the Underground Railroad to become the first members of First Baptist Church. A warm welcome to you all! We invite you to open your heart and mouth of praise, as we worship Christ our Lord and Savior. We worship Him, Who was, and is, and is to come (Revelation 4:8). As we reflect on the prophetic promise and ultimate sacrifice of Christ, we’ll be reminded “ALL” (Jews and Gentiles), were included in God’s redemptive plan. We observe religion’s attempt to divide and separate God’s children through ethnicity and man-made doctrines, yet God gave us Christ to transcend religion and unite humanity in Him. Knowing Christ is the better way, today we’ll welcome Deacon Ola Adeyemi with His message theme “When God Replaced Religion”.
“Remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ." (Ephesians 2:12-13)

Once again, welcome to our Communion service of worship unto Christ our Redeemer. We’ll enter our praise, in acknowledgment of His redemptive work on the cross. Yes, this Anointed One, as we learned, was prophetically announced by Daniel, to be “cut off” (Daniel 9:25-26), and rejected by the ones He came to save. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12). “The Call and the Fall” of Israel’s Temple in 70 A.D. marked the end of the old covenant and revealed the seriousness of rejecting God. Christ’s arrival was and is a significant fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy; fulfillment in the New Testament.
"He came unto His own, and His own received Him not, but as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:11-12)
