AFIYU is seeking male mentors! The need for support and positive influence for our youth especially young boys, is evident now more than ever. The rise in young boys going missing is a stark reality to what negative influence can have on a young person and how easily they can be drawn away from family by the lure of connection and identity. The need for positive influence is great!
AFIYU;s Mentorship Program provides the opportunities for men in our communities to support a young boy by walking alongside him as he tries to make sense of the world around him. Just 1 hour a week spent with a youth can help him affirm his identity and see himself through the lens of a male who he can relate.

We are super grateful to everyone who came out on Saturday to support our young creatives in the community. They were amazing! From the littles to the not so littles! We always knew we have talents in our youth but rarely get a chance to put the spotlight on just them. Glad we did and plan to do it again! Special thanks go out to Pickering Councillor Shaheen Butt (Ward 1) for his continued support; Ashmeed Khan, the Pickering Public Library, three wonderful women who worked tirelesly on this project, Romona AJ and Melissa Kondell and AFIYU;s biggest supporter, McFarlane Yasheema our MC extraordinaire for the event! The outcome was truly because of these women. And last but not least, the youth! They were amazing. See some of the highlights.
