The Loyan Foundation is a registered charitable organization based in Toronto, committed to eliminating violence—especially within the East African Canadian community. Third year York University student Loyan Gilao was out with a friend at a nightlclub when he was senselessly shot and killed. This killing galvanized the community and led to the formation of the Loyan Foundation
