Hype Bomb

Last year we dropped a pair of custom sneakers to celebrate Canada Day and Canadiana in general. We were planning on doing the same this year, but in light of the past few weeks' events, we've decided not to do so today. Instead we’re choosing to leave room for some long-overdue conversations about truth and reconciliation. We're both born and raised in Canada and consider ourselves proud Canadians.  Still, at the same time, we recognize that we can't blindly celebrate what the country has become without acknowledging the past (and ongoing) injustices facing indigenous communities. We both come from very different backgrounds, but we benefit from having open discussions and finding common ground. Let's stand on guard for those who were here before thee.
