BEFORE Checklick:

- Athlete evaluations done on paper, filed in a binder
- Coaches texting managers with updates (or not at all)
- Parents calling to ask about their child's progress
- Season-end admin taking an entire weekend
- New staff having no access to athlete history

AFTER Checklick:

- Coaches evaluate athletes on their phone, in real time
- Every evaluation is stored, searchable, and permanent
- Parents receive automatic skill progression updates
- Season-end admin takes an afternoon
- New staff log in and see full athlete history from day one

The club didn't change. The system did.

A question for sports club managers:

What is the ONE thing about running your club that you wish you could hand off to someone (or something) else?

For a lot of the managers we work with, the answer is athlete evaluation admin - tracking who's been assessed, what level they're at, communicating that to parents, and keeping coaches updated.

It's not the fun part of the job. But it's essential.

That's exactly what Checklick handles - so managers can spend more time on the parts of the job they actually love.

Comment below - what would you hand off?

Hot take: 80% of sports club admin work is unnecessary.

Not "hard to avoid" - actually unnecessary.

Chasing coaches for eval updates → unnecessary with mobile evaluations.
Re-entering athlete data every season → unnecessary with persistent profiles.
Writing individual progress emails to parents → unnecessary with automated feedback.

The work isn't the problem. The system is.

5 things thriving sports clubs do differently (that struggling ones don't):

1. They evaluate athletes on a schedule - not just when it feels right
Consistent evaluation = clear progression = retained members.

2. They make progress visible to parents
Informed parents are loyal parents. Mystery creates churn.

3. Their coaches can evaluate from the field - not just at a desk
If your evaluation process requires a laptop and an hour of free time, it won't happen consistently.

4. They have a single source of truth for every athlete's history
When a coach leaves, the athlete's data stays. No lost history, no starting from scratch.

5. They automate the admin, so managers focus on the program
The best club managers I know spend time on coaching quality and culture - not spreadsheets.

Running a sports club is hard enough. The systems should make it easier, not harder.

Which of these does your club still need to work on? Be honest - I'll share what's worked for other clubs.
