Are museums public spaces?

As summer approaches, some of us have our sights set on parks, trails and beaches. But what about places that aren’t fully open and unmanaged but still play a critical part in public life.

In our latest story we talked to Heidi Reitmaier, CEO of MUSEUM OF TORONTO about how museums act as public spaces and help build civic trust.

We’ve also pulled together a list of some of our favourite museums across Canada. Travelling this summer? We’ve got you covered ✅ check out the link in bio.

The Evergreen Conference ended over a month ago and we are happy to share some photo highlights from these very special two days. We wanted the conference to embody the kinds of communities that we want to build. Places that are green, inviting and built on genuine connection. Places where you can find belonging among neighbours, human and more-than-human alike.

🙋‍♀️ 470 attendees
🏙️ 12 tours
🗝️ 2 keynote addresses
🗣️ 117 speakers
💚 20 exhibitors

Thank you to all our speakers, exhibitors, tour leaders, and attendees for creating such an open, playful, and meaningful two days in the heart of the Don Valley. And thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, TD Bank Group, for making this conference possible.

We can dream bigger and create this world together. As our final keynote speaker Niigaan Sinclair said, "creation bends towards love". Thank you for creating this with us.
