And the last one is out! This was the single egg from Brights, who was badly eggbound and needed to go to the vet to have the rest aspirated.
It's a big baby! And I'm so thankful it made it. Not to mention, it also proved out the dad's het, and is wonderfully bright.

I find that one of the bigger challenges behind taking axanthic photos is in capturing their silvery colours. These were taken under natural shaded light; they certainly look better than the photos I took when he was a baby.
I'm otherwise very happy with the rate that he's growing, and he's a very good eater to boot! Hopefully he'll be ready for a female next season.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
This was a large and highly anticipated clutch, but the male either wasn't successful or the female didn't take a liking to him. I'm inclined to believe it's the former, as the male's never been successful in 3 years across 2 females. When working with a very small number of pairings yearly, an entirely slug clutch like this can be a huge blow to plans.
With any hope, I can maybe bounce back by pairing her again with a male she's been successful with in the past. I got her back up to weight, put the male in and within 3 hours there was a visible lock. Fingers crossed!
