MAX - Muslims Achieving Excellence
Islamic history is full of examples of excellence in all fields – Astronomy, Medicine, Mathematics, Physics, Horticulture, Art, Philosophy, Law, Education and many others. Islam experienced a Golden Age of prosperity while most of the world was struggling through the Dark Ages. Many roots of modern knowledge and education stems from the teachings and discoveries of Muslim scholars and philosophers
During the Executive Leadership Series, we gained insightful perspectives from Naba Siddiqui, whose leadership heading the MAX Aspire platform highlights what it truly means to drive community impact and professional growth.
As Naba shared, excellence is a loaded concept, but achieving it requires combining your passion, skills, and network to give 110% to your mission. True excellence isn't just about the sheer effort you put in, it is defined by being outcome and result-focused, ensuring you cross the finish line in the best possible manner.
She also highlighted the unique space MAX holds as an organization with a laser focus on enabling and empowering Muslims professionally. Beyond the community impact, volunteering in these spaces serves as a powerful catalyst for personal challenges and professional growth.

How do you keep moving forward when the path ahead is uncertain?
That was the question at the heart of the MAX Montreal industry leaders panel. Throughout the evening, our panelists, Najia Hachimi-Idrissi, Neila Mezghani, Sofia Ahmad, Junaid Subhan, and Jean-Philippe Tremblay, beautifully guided by our moderator, Mohammed Mraoua, shared authentic stories about making decisions without having all the answers, embracing opportunities despite the risks, and continuing to move forward in the face of uncertainty.
One idea echoed throughout the evening: Leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about having the courage to move forward when the answers are not yet visible.
Beyond the discussions, this evening provided an opportunity to build connections, ask sincere questions, and hear about experiences that resonate with the challenges many of us are facing today.
A sincere thank you to our panelists, our moderator, and everyone who joined us for contributing to such an engaging and inspiring evening.
