Hosting offsites allows our team members to build and develop connections, while also providing an opportunity for strategic planning.
Recently, the cross-functional team for our Selector application—which allows BenchSci users to find reagents and model systems using insights derived from published literature—came together in person to participate in workshops, hear presentations from different departments, attend a mindfulness session, and participate in team-building exercises.
With over 25 people on the team, Senior Project Manager Sarah Sawaya applied her project management skills to plan, organize, and implement an impactful offsite! “I’m super grateful to get to work with such a highly motivated, talented, kind, and inclusive team!” she shared.

When Sean Holloran, one of our Enterprise Scientific Liaisons, performed the experiment in his BenchSci welcome package, he knew he could rely on his lab assistant Tater Tot to help him out. 🧪
"The remote onboarding process has been fantastic. Every person and department that we have met has been welcoming and wants us to succeed," shared Sean.
Performing a fun experiment, being welcomed with a team lunch, and having an onboarding buddy walk you through life at BenchSci are just a few of the ways we welcome new team members.

At the Black Professionals In Tech Network - BPTN Masterclass earlier this month, Victoria Hipolito was asked if she could see a future where healthcare is delivered entirely by AI and other digital technologies.
Here's what she had to say: "I believe we will always need a balance. We can't replace the human element and intuition that's involved in practicing medicine. Aside from diagnosing illnesses, treatment plans are often personalized based on specific patient preferences and sometimes physician intuition.
However, artificial intelligence and machine learning can empower physicians by gathering and summarizing the vast amount of information they need to make important clinical decisions. This can be especially critical when physicians are faced with complex diseases that require a multiparametric decision."
