Across the province, racialized and low-income populations often have poorer attachment to primary care. Understanding the primary care preferences of Black and South Asian-origin communities could help those who plan health services to enhance primary care attachment for these underserved groups. Research shows that out-of-pocket fees influence whether or when people seek care - and this particularly so for people who are low income and those managing complex health conditions. Our latest blog highlights how changes to the Interim Federal Health Program for refugees, refugee claimants and protected persons will likely lead to barriers to healthcare access for some of the newest - and amongst the most marginalized - in our country.
