Ever tried painting on silk?
Join MOCA and newcomer artist and educator Alek Phan on Saturday, June 6 for a Vietnamese silk painting workshop. Learn traditional techniques and create your own silk painting in this workshop inspired by the textiles and meditative qualities of Kimsooja’s “Dimensions of a Needle.” Watch how water and pigment move across silk to build soft layers of colour and light.
Make a day of it: start with a free artist talk with Alek Phan, “Cross Cultural Practice in Contemporary Art,” grab a coffee at Forno Cultura, then settle in for an afternoon of hands-on making.
Part of MOCA Community Weekend—slow down, try something new, and leave with your own artwork.
Spots are limited. Book now via our link in bio.
