Gladiator Burger is a new restaurant just opened up in Mississauga at Erin Mills and Britannia, in a new plaza filled with other restaurants. It seems to be an original concept, and is very clean. They have a very large menu filled with a lot of interesting items. We decided to go for burgers on this occasion, but they have chicken, and steak options as well. We'll try those next time!
The burgers are fresh, and are generous portions. They are grilled after ordering, and were not a uniform patty but a collection of grilled ground beef. As a result, pieces sometimes fell out when eating, but the burgers themselves were hot, fresh, and delicious. Take a look at the menus, they have some interesting concept creations and are really committed to the whole Gladiator concept.
We ordered a couple of combos and tried out 4 different burgers. Each one had a unique combination of toppings and were large enough that my younger two (a 4 year old and a 12 year old) couldn't finish theirs, even though the 4 year old had a simplified kids burger.
The fries and onion rings were also fresh, the onions rings were crispy. The fries though tasty were not crispy enough for my tastes.
The burgers were very reasonably priced for the concept and quantity/quality/taste. In fact they were cheaper than Burger Factory with similar or larger portions.
The four of us ate our fill (and more) at only $51 (plus tax), a very reasonable $13 each.
We didn't try any desserts, we were just too full.
We're going to visit again very soon!

We've been to DSpot in Mississauga a couple of times. Though they offer more than dessert (pizzas, fries, etc) all of their menu items are Halaal. The owners are Muslims, and it was great to see that they actually have a very nice prayer hall in the basement - we've visited near Maghreb both times - so it was very convenient to order and pray while the food was prepped.
Both times we ordered variations of Ice cream on waffles or on brownies, and their home-made ice cream was delicious. We really enjoyed the Mango, Pistachio, Rocky Road, and the Cappucino ice creams.
The portions are huge, and are made to share. Our family typically orders two dishes to share amongst the six of us (four adults and two kids, counting my elder children as adults), and after dinner we can barely manage to finish. In fact we didn't finish all of our ice cream the last two times, and ended up packing the leftovers to take home!
They have a large selection of cakes in addition to their ice cream creations, as well as the aforementioned Pizzas and Fries/Poutine, as well as both hot and cold drinks.
The prices are reasonable given the generous servings, and they are definitely our preferred spot compared to Cafe Demetre now. Being located in a restaurant hub at Dixie and Eglinton in Mississauga, they are the only dessert spot around and are ALWAYS slammed. That being said, we've never really had to wait for a table as its a huge place with great decor, very clean - including their washrooms.
What are you waiting for? Visit before the summer is over!

Another visit to Burger Factory in Mississauga. They've recently expanded by taking over the former Shawarma place next door, and ironically have opened their own Shawarma Bowl restaurant in their old location!
As usual, their burgers are great - fresh grilled with crisp fries. We usually get their Tornado Potato, a spiral-cut potato that's been deep fried to a crispy finish, more like chips than fries. Delicious and crunchy!
However, their onion rings were a disappointment - soggy and tasted like they were made from a bag, very different than their usual fare.
They were a little expensive compared to most other burger places I've been too, so I hope that they can take that into account and create some money-saving combos.
Try the Juicy Lucy on Fire, it is great!

Two varieties of a famous Hyderabadi dish, Chicken 65, prepared by my wife. Delicious!
