THE STORY

The new album from The Devil Wears Prada entitled Flowers has been on constant rotation for me since it was released. With this lettering artwork, I tried to convey a sense of overall messiness and chaos, with the letters flowing in different directions, but it all comes together in this formation as if it were meant to be that way. Beauty within the chaos. It’s one of my favourite compositional pieces that I’ve done so far and looks pretty sick on the t-shirt mockup as well!

THE STORY:
From the moment I heard this song by Spiritbox, I immediately knew I needed to get lettering. The song kicks in so quickly and makes an instant impact. I wanted my artwork to do the same. At first it’s bold and in your face, but it’s also filled with illustrative intricacies.

When I started lettering, it was really out of a love punk, hardcore and metal music. I wanted to create visuals that were unique, striking and maybe if I was lucky I’d get to work with some of the bands I love. So you can expect more of that soon.
