Just arrived... and it may be one of the most recognizable coffee makers ever made.
“The One and Only Bialetti” by Heather Millar has landed at Canvas Gallery.
It’s funny how certain objects become part of our lives. This little espresso maker has sat on kitchen counters around the world for generations. It’s timeless, beautifully designed, and instantly recognizable. In fact... even Megan and Mark have one.
Heather has an incredible ability to elevate everyday objects into something iconic. Her paintings aren’t just about what we see—they’re about what we remember. A familiar object suddenly becomes a conversation piece, a memory, and a work of art all at once.please enjoy images and in situs.
We absolutely love this one.

Claire Desjardins made the trip in from Quebec yesterday (on one of the hottest days of the year!) with eight brand-new paintings, and they were well worth the wait.
What always draws us to Claire’s work is her fearless use of colour. Every painting seems to arrive with its own personality—some bold and energetic, others quiet and contemplative—but they all share a sense of optimism that’s hard to ignore.
This latest collection feels especially exciting. There are pieces built from sweeping, confident brushstrokes, others layered with translucent pools of colour that almost seem to float across the canvas, and a few that hint at gardens, water, landscapes or even organic forms without ever becoming literal. They’re abstract, but they never feel disconnected from nature. Instead, they capture the feeling of being in it.
Claire has an incredible ability to balance spontaneity with control. Her paintings feel as though they simply happened, yet every colour, edge and gesture seems perfectly placed.
It’s no surprise her work has found its way into collections around the world, been featured in film and television, and led to collaborations with brands like Anthropologie. More importantly, they have an uncanny ability to brighten a room—and your mood.
We’re thrilled to have eight fresh pieces in the gallery.
Come by and spend some time with them. They’re even better in person.
