e Toronto Harbourfront our home. Our 300 employees operate one of the most technologically advanced sugar refineries in North America, which supplies approximately 40% of the Canadian market. Each year, up to 35 bulk vessels deliver raw sugar to our facility. After it is unloaded, the sugar is stored in our raw sugar shed, which has a capacity of 60 million kg. A conveyor system transports raw sugar to the plant, where it is refined at a rate of approximately 2,000 tons per day. Eleven packaging lines produce more than 25 different Redpath® Sugar products – from sugar packets to 1,000-kg. Our products are transported by truck to a diversified customer base including major food manufacturers and local and global retailers. Supporting the environment and our communities is a key priority for us. We continue to find new opportunities to use less water and energy, minimize waste and reduce our carbon footprint. We achieved GreenCircle’s Certified Sustainability Facts certification, a multi-attribute label that highlights our key sustainability efforts such as waste diversion from landfill. We are proud to have expanded the scope and ambition of our Ethical Sourcing Program and continue to increase our use of raw sugar that is Sustainably Sourced and Ethically Grown. To us, Sustainably Sourced and Ethically Grown means that either all the raw sugar used to craft our products comes from sugar mills that are certified against an internationally recognized standard or, when trade and agriculture policies limit our access to a full volume of certified sugar, it is purchased from suppliers who have been through our rigorous Ethical Sourcing Program.
