Mama’s, ready to feel like YOU again?
The number one thing we hear over and over when mothers try on our pieces is “wow! I feel like myself again.”
Did you know findings suggest many people get a mental health boost from wearing nice underwear in everyday life - YES! A little lace goes a long way!
“Wearing nice quality underwear or lingerie sets boosts our confidence and self-esteem, even if no one sees it,” said Carolyn Mair, a behavioural psychologist, author of The Psychology of Fashion.
But why exactly would wearing nice underwear affect our mental health?
💪🏽Wearing nice lingerie boosts confidence.
🧖🏽♀️ can be a form of self-care.
💐 It replaces external validation with internal validation.
💅🏽 may feel inspired to dress nicely on the outside, too.
Our pieces are designed to give you an instant confidence boost without having to sacrifice comfort for style, support or for a nursing mother, function.

Fashion and politics are connected in ways the industry has spent decades conditioning us to consume unnotice.
The clothes on your body is the result of a series of choices who gets paid, who gets protected, whose land is extracted, whose water is poisoned. Behind that are shareholders who want us on the never ending cycle of consumption to keep the machine running.
And Fast fashion isn’t the only culprit. Luxury is too. One sells you disposability. The other sells you the illusion of aspiration. Both are built on exploitation, of labour, of land, of resources, just at different price points. The Logo doesn’t make the supply chain clean or ethical.
exists because 1,100 people died in the Rana Plaza collapse. A tragedy that was entirely preventable. The result of a global industry at every price point that decided margin mattered more than human life and were not held accountable when their brand names were found in the rubble a theme that has revealed itself over the years.
The beginning of this week starts on and the reality is many of us can’t recognize a plant or its purpose that is growing in our own yard, yet we can name every brand we’re wearing. Why is that? And why don’t we ever question what that brand’s values actually are?
The planet was here before us. She’ll be here after. We were disconnected from her on purpose because people who feel connected don’t over consume.
Revolution in Fashion is a collective act. It starts by divesting our dollars to makers who align with our values to make things well and steering clear from ones that literally don’t. It happens when enough of us decide that the way things are is not the way things have to be.
I built Mayana because women deserve better. And I wasn’t willing to compromise the labour of women to make it or exploit the planet to bring it to life.
