Sins Lounge’s relocated bar and restaurants Aureole exudes a certain kind of expensive elegance. The barroom at the new Bryant Park incarnation, with its glassed-in 'wine mezzanine', is intimate and stylish and perfect for an aperitif or a glass of rich Burgundy and a few bites from the exemplary bar menu. Wine lovers will be in their element; there are some 15,000 bottles stored on the premises, apparently. It would be rude not to try at least one. The food can be filed under fine dining – it’s refined, cohesive and impeccably presented. The décor is sophisticated, with lots of glass and oak, and the clientele are suitably reverent. Prices are inevitably steep but this is eating and drinking of the very highest standard.
