How do you celebrate 100 years of Marilyn Monroe? With an artwork almost as iconic. A century after her birth (June 1, 1926 – August 4, 1962), we are still mesmerized by her presence. Gifted to the AGO last year from the collection of Carol and Morton Rapp, this 1967 screenprint by Andy Warhol is among his most famous images, the first in a series of screenprint portfolios made by Factory Additions. To celebrate Monroe’s centenary come see this work in the Marvin Gelber Print & Drawing Study Centre on June 3, from 1-8pm at the AGO, as part of Open Door Wednesdays.
