**Job Description**

**Summary:**

Revive Supervision & Family Services is looking to build a team of caring professionals who can ensure a child’s physical safety while the child has contact with a non-custodial parent.

Supervised visitation gives the non-custodial parent the ability to have a positive relationship with their child. To facilitate this aim, the successful candidate will need to be able to adapt to the various activities of interest of our families. While most visits occur in the family home, park or play centre – various seasonal activities are requested and need accommodation (e.g., hiking, bicycling, escorting to a swimming pool during the warmer months and skating, tobogganing, etc during the Winter).

To support the varying language needs of our clients, please indicate on your resume if you speak a second or third language.

Most visits occur during weekday evenings, and in the morning on Saturday and Sundays

**Responsibilities and Duties:**
* Supervise visits of non-custodial parents with their child(ren).
* Monitor and record all interactions from the start of the visit to the end of the visit.
* Intervene if the parent or child demonstrates inappropriate physical or verbal behaviors
* Teach and model appropriate behavior – develop and implement behaviour plan
* Build respectful boundaries with parents, children, and third party agencies
* Strong communication skills: verbal and written
* Ability to deescalate conflict
* Maintain confidential and accurate client files and case notes (will be submitted to courts)
* Provide encouragement and resources
* Comfortable providing supervision in various in-home and community settings
* Self-directed, take initiative, problem solve and work with limited supervision
* Problem solve (e.g., handling situations where a child refuses to go with a parent or wishes to leave prior to the end of a visit)

**Qualifications:**
* ECE, BSW / MSW plus 1 year experience supervising court-ordered visits between children and non-custodial parent
* *Valid license, access to vehicle and willing to travel across GTA*
* Able to accommodate family requests for outdoor physical activities
* Experience addressing inappropriate behaviour in children, youth and adults
* Experience supporting confrontational and frustrated adult clients
* Strong ability to think quickly, rationally and problem solve
* Strong ability to remain calm during emotional-charged situations
* Confident and able to take charge of emotionally charged situations
* Knowledge of community resources
* Experience writing client case notes
* Clean criminal record – Vulnerable Screening Sector police clearance is required

Job Type: Casual

Salary: $20.00 /hour
