A small, intimate space for prayer and reflection is ready to welcome you. Beth Lida is the oldest Orthodox synagogue in Forest Hill Village. It has been in existence for 100 years. It is a small, quaint, warm and friendly shul, open on shabbos and chagim to all visitors and residents of the community. Beth Lida is situated at 22 Gilgorm Road, just north of Eglinton Ave and east of Chaplin Crescent. We look forward to welcoming you!

In 2021, Cinthya Lopez Mora was forced to flee her home of Nicaragua to seek protection as a refugee.
Why did she have to run? Three years earlier, she had taken to the streets with thousands of other Nicaraguans in peaceful protest against her country's authoritarian regime. For her political affiliations and social media activity, Cinthya was targeted by government supporters and was forced to leave her country. Today, she calls Canada home.

And the Beth Lida community has a chance to hear her amazing story February 2nd, at a special Shabbat dinner focused on the Jewish value of welcoming the stranger.
