Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation

If you were part of the Winnipeg pulmonary fibrosis community, you knew Don Hardy. His energy, his ideas, and his steady belief that the Winnipeg Walk could always be bigger, better, and more meaningful.
Don was a passionate supporter of the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundatio and a driving force behind the Winnipeg Walk. He wasn’t content with “good enough.” He pushed us to think bigger and then helped make it real.
This year, he set a bold goal: raise $100,000 for the Winnipeg Walk. And then he got to work. Through his leadership and persistence, support grew in ways that reflected exactly who he was. His work is a reflection of his vision for what this community could do together.
But what people will remember most isn’t just what Don helped build, it’s how he made people feel. Supported. Included. Capable. Never alone.
He believed in this community with everything he had, and that belief brought others along with him.
Don’s impact will continue in every Walk, every conversation, and every step forward this community takes.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and all who knew him, and our gratitude for everything he gave to this work and to the people it serves.

As we look back on this special day, we're reminded that hope grows stronger when a community comes together.
From familiar faces to new connections, every person who attended, donated, volunteered, or cheered us on helped make a difference for Canadians living with pulmonary fibrosis.
Thank you for helping turn compassion into action—and for walking beside us in the pursuit of better treatments and, one day, a cure. 💙

Every step has a story.
Some of us walk for a parent.
Some walk for a partner, a friend, or a neighbour.
Some walk in memory. Others walk in hope.
Together, we walk so no one has to face pulmonary fibrosis alone.
Join us in Saskatoon for the 3rd Annual CPFF Hope Breathes Here Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis. Whether you're walking, fundraising, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, you're helping raise awareness, support those living with pulmonary fibrosis, and move us closer to better treatments and one day, a cure.
Tell us why you walk in the comments!
