Carl Rydlund just finished giving me my music lesson. In three lessons, he opened me up to new ways to think about writing music. Rules rule!

Carl also is worthy of quote! We were discussing some bass players' aversion to practicing music because some disliked the feeling of practice.
Carl said, "Pain is knowledge rushing in to fill a gap!"

Just brilliant! To be clear, we all are in discomfort as we mentally try to execute the homework that we are assigned. It is no big deal! The practice experience has no defects of any kind so maybe people can begin to trust it.
