🪩The Joy of Movement🪩Joy: A feeling of great pleasure or happiness. Movement: To move or change the position of the body, such as shifting, walking, or exercising.

The combination of both offers profound mental and physical benefits, transforming exercise from a chore into a source of happiness, connection, and resilience. ⁠

Deriving joy from movement boosts mood via neurotransmitters like dopamine and endorphins, reduces anxiety, fosters community, and improves cognitive function, providing a “natural high” that enhances overall life satisfaction.⁠

It’s easy to associate exercise with strength and empowerment. But our third Soul Fuel value might be the thing we need the most: Joy. Come and get it, brewed fresh on the floor for the taking!⁠

🪩Team Spotlight🪩Sarah has been a member of the Soul Fuel community from the beginning. She moved onto the floor shortly after our LEAP training last year. Her authentic warmth and enthusiasm is infectious, which she pairs with well-planned and miraculously-programmed workouts that challenge you where you’re at.⁠

Sarah is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Sheridan College ‘Theatre & Drama Studies’ program, where MJ was her 4th year dance teacher (Sarah dances like a champ!). While Sarah has always been physically active, she started her professional fitness journey 4 years ago. She’s a certified NASM Personal Trainer and has been successfully coaching all over the city, pairing her performance background and fitness education for energetic and engaging workouts.⁠

What gives you soul?⁠
“Nature! Being outside surrounded by the natural world makes me feel at peace and restored. To create this feeling in my home I have an unhinged number of house plants, and caring for them as well as my two cats brings me great joy.”⁠

What gives you fuel?⁠
“In my work it is absolutely the client wins: an aha moment in a session or hearing how they did that one thing they thought they’d never be able to in their daily life. In my personal life it is movement in a variety of ways: strength training, yoga, dancing, hiking, even the odd run here and there.”⁠
