It's official: Ontario's education unions have served notice to bargain — and COPE Ontario is in the fight!

We're bringing the voices of Educational Assistants and support staff to the table. For too long, students with needs have been left without the EA support they depend on. Bigger classes, fewer supports, and a funding crisis that's failing the most vulnerable kids in our classrooms. That changes at the bargaining table.

This round, we're demanding the province fund education to match the needs of every student in every classroom. The fight starts now. Stay tuned. 💪 ✊

Local 454 members at Crisis Homes Inc. have a new deal.

✅ 3-year agreement: 2026–2028
✅ $1.12 + $1.00 + $1.00/hr wage increases over the life of the contract
✅ New parental leave SUB plan: $100/week for 26 weeks

🎉 Big win for COPE Local 521 members at Northwestern Health Unit!

Members have ratified a new 2-year collective agreement (Jan 1, 2026 – Dec 31, 2027), and here's what it means:

✅ 4% general wage increase effective January 1, 2026
✅ 2.7% general wage increase effective January 1, 2027
✅ A standardized wage scale - so every member reaches max pay in 6 years, not 9. Some members are seeing up to 15% total over the life of this contract.

That last point is huge. For too long, some workers waited nearly a decade to reach the same pay others hit in two years. That inequity is now fixed.
