It all started with 's curation of events at . This artistic response debuted to the largest North American ceramic exhibition for Magdalene Odundu's : Dialogue with Objects in 2024.

CALABASH is now on tour. Will you be there in Guelph, Ontario?

CALABASH- A choreographed dance and live percussion journey exploring how African-diasporic communities cultivate everyday social bonds through a symbolic vessel: the calabash. Drawing inspiration from its transatlantic legacy, the calabash embodies the power to gather, hold, nourish, transport, and uplift the cultural and communal needs of African and Caribbean peoples. This light-hearted narrative follows a woman’s labor of love in local food sovereignty and nurturing community connections.

Coco Collective

Calabash is a transatlantic tapestry about the humanity, relationships, and practicality of African and Caribbean communities’ use of their vessels. This inspired African-diasporic dance-music work was developed as a commissioned artist response to Kenyan-British ceramist, Magdalene Odundu’s largest North American exhibition: Dialogue with Objects at Gardiner Museum in March 2024.
