Bird Names had its first little flight in Toronto with a private showing at
We premiered the film in a small, intimate room with our cast, crew, media and a few VIPs — the exact kind of crowd you hope for when you’ve poured your heart into something slightly nerdy about birds and culture. After the screening, my dear friend and ‘s own hosted a Q&A with the cast & Director (yours truly! 🙋🏽♀️) that was thoughtful, funny, and full of the kind of behind-the-scenes stories that usually stay off camera.
Nothing better than watching a film about community… with community 🖤🦉 🎬 BIRD NAMES is now out on CBC and YouTube! Link in my bio to watch
Thank you to the incredible for making this possible, so proud to be a founding member of the Toronto house 🖤

When the news cycle feels like the Handmaids Tale season finale nobody asked for and the group chats are spiraling…sometimes we just need to zoom way in and notice what there is to be grateful for.
A nearby garden. Small hands in the dirt. One extremely judgmental bird on the fence.
It won’t fix the world, but Science has proven that spending time in nature - and - tending your immediate ecosystem is proven to lower stress, restore a sense of control, and remind you (and your little ones 🐣) that stability still exists. Sometimes, wearing matching thrifted outfits helps too!
Grateful for moments like this, while knowing many families right now don’t get them, separated by borders, bombs, or 🧊 holding on to each other however they can.

Low tides. Tiny boots. Big science.
Brought 🐻 cub to the shoreline to see what the ocean leaves behind. I didn’t grow up seeing kids who looked like me in places like this, so raising my daughter ankles deep in nature feels gently disruptive 🌊
