The Spokespeople Cycling Group, of which I proudly belong, has a charitable ride each year in support of a designated charity and has been doing this for more than 10 years. This year the group has decided to support CAMH and the Slaight Family Centre for Youth in Transition (a branch of the CAMH) whose work I heartily endorse. In addition to the annual Spokespeople day ride, I will be continuing
on my own (mostly), on a longer journey (The Long Ride), to satisfy an inner drive to be places I have not been to before and see the world in a different way. This ride is a personal challenge in support of parents and siblings of those young people who suffer depression and addiction. The Long Ride (from Toronto to Florida) provides an opportunity to help those involved with their own lengthy journey from dark places to a brighter, more hopeful space. Your support, both financial and in spirit, will help make this journey more meaningful and purposeful. I encourage you to join me in supporting this most worthy cause, a cause that is much more prevalent than we would like to admit. My goal is to raise $25,000 in support of The Slaight Centre for Youth in Transition; to date, we've raised $5,348.
